Katsushiro Soho who had worked as a farmer and a craftsman all his life. He should had been pleased with the blessing of rain, enjoyed the fresh breeze in the early summer, and discovered various lights during farming. I felt as if these strong emotions were directly connected to his hands and became his works of art.

Exhibition of Katsushiro Soho is currently being held at the Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art until 16th June.
Katsushiro Soho (1934-2023, Living National Treasure), bamboo artist who passed away in January last year.
Many large great works are also on display.

I recommend to enjoy the works along with his small notes of inspiration that he found in his daily work and life in Tochigi.
I hope you would enjoy works by Katsushiro Soho that emit “wind, air, and light.
